It was a long day. Two long-haul flights behind to rich the capital of fashion and Olympics 2024 host city.
I've been to Paris 26 years ago by now
Is that what I predicted to see in 2024?
I don't think so
Nevertheless the city centre was quite clean and calm at that night. It was Gare de Lyon area. Not so far away
Breakfast after a short sleep returned some belief in that city. It's high time to have some walk around
Yearly summer morning. Weekday. Streets are filling with people
Because of the Olympics the fastest way to join Paris is an underground. As it seems to be. With some key features
Get lost in 2024? Easy. And that is why.
The first issue was to find an entrance to the tube in Paris itself. Even at Gare de Lyon - one of the main Paris railroad stations - it wasn't as much easy to find the correct way to the underground trains.
Secondly, you want a tube? Here we go! 14 Metro lines + 5 RER (regional lines) having also underground stations... f@ck.
RER stations, by the way, I found less crowded than Metro. RER have air conditioning instead of some M trains that seem to be old-fashioned despite the fact that there are machinist-less M trains.
RER "A line" train like this will get you to the Disneyland.
And yes. You can easily get lost in the Underground. Navigation is not as clear and understandable as it could be, to my mind.
At the end of the day I found that all tourists met in one place - Trocadero square with one of the best views at Tour Eifel site
How bad it was crowded? Easy to get the idea just by looking at the spot from the side
One of my favorite pictures from that site. A girl trying to climb onto the statues' level to reach for the best clear Tour Eifel view
